Nonfatal drug overdoses have risen by 18-percent across Minnesota from 2019 to 2020.  That’s according to a new report from the state Health Department, which also found that these overdoses disproportionately affected people of color.  During the last year, there were 14 nonfatal overdoses for every one overdose death.  Officials say the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated worsening public health issues like the opioid epidemic.  Resources on preventing drug overdoses are readily available on the state’s website.
