Minnesota’s Cold Weather Rule goes into effect starting today (FRI).
“So the point is to ensure that all Minnesotans have access and don’t have their heat cut off during the winter.”
The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission’s Chair Katie Sieben. This year, the period of protection has been expanded by four weeks to ensure Minnesotans’ electric and natural gas service stays on throughout our cold winter months. The rule is in effect through April 30th next year and all electric and natural gas companies are required to offer this protection. For more information, contact your local provider.
