It is week 3 of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s virtual seminar on addiction and the Minnesota justice system. Tori Utley with the Foundation says they now are looking into specific tools to help those struggling with recovery, and how professionals like judges and lawyers can play a role.
“Session 3 we start looking at the continuum of care in Minnesota. So a specific example that we want legal professionals to know about is grass roots recovery organizations. So peer based, community support.”
The series, titled “Addiction, Recovery and the Minnesota Justice System” has one more session planned next week where legal professionals will share their personal stories of overcoming addiction. More information can be found at hazelden-betty-ford-dot-org.
