Each year, millions of older Americans fall. While not all falls cause serious injury, falling does make it more difficult for older adults to retain their independence.
Falls Prevention Awareness Week is a national health campaign observed on the first day of Fall to increase awareness around falling. This year, VINE Faith in Action is hosting several events to help bring awareness to this national public health concern.
On Wednesday, September 22 between 9:30 am – 2 pm, VINE is partnering with Mankato Clinic to offer free balance assessments at the VINE Adult Community Center. The assessments take approximately 10 minutes and will test participants’ leg strength, agility, and balance. After the assessment, participants will receive their results and recommendations on how to improve their balance.
