There’s help available to Minnesota renters in need of help as a result of the pandemic. State Housing Commissioner Jennifer Ho says the RentHelpMN program has already assisted more than 40,000 applicants–two-thirds of which have low incomes and are people of color.

“People can go to or call 2-1-1 in order to get an application started, you can do a paper application, you can have somebody help or if you’re able to just go online, working together to get a complete application submitted is the best way for us to get going.”

So far, more than $220 million in assistance has been requested through the program and nearly $47 million has been paid out.
