U-S Senator Amy Klobuchar is thanking the U-S Forest Service, for the agency’s efforts to suppress ongoing wildfires and protect public safety in the Superior National Forest. Klobuchar says looking ahead…

“The answer is better forest management, we’re going to be putting many many more resources on that and then in the fall we have a bill that we can vote on that I think is going to do that and of course some bigger work on climate change.”

Klobuchar says the Greenwood Fire near Isabella, Minnesota, has now grown to nearly 26,000 acres and is an ongoing threat to public health and safety. The Senator is asking the U-S Forest Service to continue working closely with state and local partners on a coordinated interagency response and deploy resources and personnel to northern Minnesota.
