“For the sake of the sacred, our future generations,… Governor Walz, pull the ****ing permits and stop Line 3!”

Opponents of the Enbridge pipeline, at the State Capitol for most of the afternoon and into the evening Wednesday. Governor Walz said earlier, all along the goal was to replace an aging pipeline and safely move fuels:

“One of our concerns has to be… that we followed the law, followed the science, followed the process.   State law showed us how to permit a project.”

Winona LaDuke with Honor the Earth responds:

“If the process works, there would be no pipeline.   I mean, if the process worked, they would have got a federal environmental impact statement and a state environmental impact statement, and considered treaty rights, climate change and the impact on Lake Superior.”

Backers of Line 3 say the project has had rigorous environmental review and is the safest way to transport tar-sands oil.
