U-S Senator Tina Smith is part of a roundtable discussion in St. Paul this morning (10 am) focusing on the need for investments in childcare. Smith, who was a strong proponent of childcare funding and the child tax credit in the American Rescue Plan, says it’s simple:

“If you don’t have access to childcare as a parent, nothing is going to work. You are not going to be able to go to work yourself, your child is not going to get the care that they need.”

Smith is currently pushing for childcare and universal Pre-K. The Senator will be joined this morning by educators, parents, local childcare leaders and members of the faith coalition ISAIAH.
