A special panel resumes work today (noon) on *which* front line workers will share in 250 million dollars of COVID bonuses authorized by the Minnesota Legislature:
The recommendations will go to state lawmakers for a planned special legislative session next month. Health care workers, child care staff, education paraprofessionals, emergency responders and a plethora of other stakeholders have requests in. Governor Tim Walz said there will be deserving frontline workers who do not get a piece of the bonus package during the special session, but he says “that will motivate us to come back.” Some front-line workers say that demonstrates more than 250 million dollars is needed.
