The Mankato Area Public School Board voted to require masks for all students and staff in grades K-8 and on school buses. The vote came after more than 100 people packed the Intergovernmental Center at last night’s meeting. One major factor for the decision was that those 12 and older are eligible for the vaccine. The final vote was 5-2. The mandate will end two weeks after once those under 12 are eligible for the vaccine.
