U-S Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack talked about drought conditions in Minnesota. He says in his estimation conditions are trending in the wrong direction quickly.

“Unfortunately across the western part of the united states, at  a level and at a rate we’ve never seen before. So it would be wise for us to think about that 2023 farm bill and whether or not we need to make some adjustments.”

Vilsack says in the meantime they are working hard on CRP, crop insurance and livestock foraging programs to help ease the burdens on farmers as they try to make it through this summer and upcoming harvest season.
