Governor Tim Walz acknowledged that he’s considering a vaccine mandate for state employees returning to in-person work:

“It’s certainly the move that President Biden made with federal workers, and it’s what we’re assessing with what’s the best, most workable, fairest way to make sure we get back safely.”

Senate Republican Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says a mask mandate is “divisive and unproductive.”   Gazelka says vaccines are “widely available for those who want them and are incredibly effective”, but there are other options — such as working from home and distancing — for those who choose *not* to be vaccinated.
