The Senate passed a sweeping 550-billion dollar infrastructure bill. The vote breakdown was 69-30 with 19 Republicans joining all Democrats. U.S. Senator Tina Smith:

“It’s going to be about 4.5 billion dollars just for Minnesota for highway improvements, and an additional 820 or so million dollars for transit improvements, more money for bridge replacements, and then broadband as we know is so important.”

The legislation faces an uncertain future in the House.
