Today is the first day of the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota. Mike Dougherty with MN-Dot says there could still be bikers headed west through Minnesota. He says the key to sharing the road with the two-wheeled riders…

“A good awareness about your surroundings so you’re not making a movement that cuts off a motorcyclist or runs in front of them. They’re just like everyone else, they want to get to their destination safely.”

For bikers headed out Dougherty says there are no closures along the Minnesota portions of I-90, but they may encounter lane changes and restrictions.
