A top official at the Federal Reserve says worry about the Delta variant could slow down the economy.  Speaking on CBS’ Face the Nation, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari said he still thinks the fall could be a strong time for the economy but it depends how far this current outbreak goes.  When asked about how long it will take for the economy to fully recover to pre-pandemic levels, Kashkari said it could take anywhere from two months to much longer.  He added that he does see the economy recovering sooner than later.  Kashkari said close to nine million more Americans would be working right now if not for the coronavirus pandemic.
