Minnesotans with family members in assisted living facilities have the opportunity to check the license status of facilities  ahead of changes in state regulations August 1st. Lindsey Kreuger with the Minnesota Department of Health says it is crucial for everyone to check if their provider is on the list.

“What the list is providing is information as to which location has moved forward to be licensed as an assisted living provider, which is effective August first.”

Kreuger says starting Sunday, housing and services will be included under one license, a change from their previous status as two separate services. The list of providers is available on the M-D-H website and will be updated daily.
