The C-D-C has reversed course, recommending that even vaccinated people wear masks indoors in areas of the U-S where coronavirus is surging.  Governor Tim Walz said Friday in Mankato that he thinks “you will not see a statewide mask mandate” and any decisions will be local.  As for Minnesota schools —  back in session in about a month — state Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says C-D-C recommends masks for anyone not vaccinated, including children under 12:

“We really strongly encourage people to follow those recommendations but, at the present time, those are not in the context of mandates.”

And will the Minnesota Department of Health issue guidance for school districts?

“We’ll be saying more about that, just in the coming days here.”
