State health officials are sounding a cautionary note, prompted by the rise in cases from the emerging delta variant of COVID. Commissioner Jan Malcolm says:
“Federal officials generally now referring to the dramatic case growth that’s happening in the United States again as a pandemic of the unvaccinated.”
Malcolm says most recent Minnesota data from July 15th show…
“99.9 percent of Minnesotans who are fully vaccinated have not contracted the virus.”
Health officials say so far the vaccines are holding up well, even against the delta variant — but they stress that Minnesota’s vaccination rate still isn’t as high as it needs to be, to squelch a possible resurgence of COVID.
