On July 25th, 2021 at approximately 11:30 p.m.  Le Sueur County Deputies responded to a report of motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Le Sueur County Road 15 and Le Sueur County Road 22 in Sharon Township.

     Initial investigation indicates a 2012 Ford Expedition with seven occupants all from California collided with a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado with one occupant from Le Sueur MN.  As a result of the crash, four of the seven occupants in the Expedition were pronounced dead at the scene.  Those individuals include the driver John St. John age 54 of Piedmont CA, passengers Jill St. John age 56 of CA, a juvenile female age 13 of CA and a juvenile male age 9 of CA.  The three surviving passengers Jane Wooster age 41 of CA was transported to HCMC, a juvenile male age 15 of CA was transported to HCMC and a juvenile male age 7 of CA was transported to Children’s Hospital.

     The driver and lone occupant of the Chevrolet Silverado Rusbel Marroquin Jr. age 41 of Le Sueur MN was transported to MCHS Mankato.

     The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office and MN State Patrol continue to investigate the cause of the crash. An update will be distributed as the investigation is ongoing.   Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
