(St. Paul, MN)  —  Embattled state representative John Thompson is issuing an apology.  Thompson visited the St. Paul Police western district offices Friday to apologize to an officer for accusing him of racial profiling during a July 4th traffic stop.  Thompson was driving with a Wisconsin driver’s license, leading to residency questions, and was cited for driving with a suspended license during the stop.  St. Paul Police Chief Todd Axtell had demanded Thompson apologize for the accusation, saying body cam footage refuted the lawmaker’s account.
