(Fairfax, MN) — The deputy registrar’s office in Fairfax is closed after two employees were accused of accessing drivers’ motor records without an authorized purpose. The Department of Public Safety says the discovery came as part of an audit within the Department of Vehicle Services. Three workers at the office in North Mankato were stripped of their ability to access DVS data for doing the same thing. So far, DVS officials believe those involved only looked up their own personal information, or the information of close friends and family.
