(St. Paul, MN) — State Representative John Thompson is facing a 200-dollar fine after a jury found him guilty of misdemeanor obstruction. The jury verdict was announced yesterday on charges that stemmed from a November 2019 disturbance outside the emergency room at a hospital in Robbinsdale. Thompson took the stand during the trial, saying he was at the hospital to determine the condition of a friend who had attempted suicide. The judge in the case stayed a 30-day sentence in a county workhouse.
