The Hislop family of Beauford has been named Blue Earth County’s “2021 Farm Family of the Year” by the University of Minnesota.

The Hislop family has been residing at the same farm in Beauford Township since November 6,  1866. The family came to America from Scotland in the 1840s.

Today, the Hislops grow corn and soybeans and custom finish hogs. The family also owns a  trucking company with four full-time employees.

The farm is managed by Scott and Michelle Hislop and their son, Adam and his wife, Lauren.
