The organizers of Pile It On had another successful year, collecting $2,402 in cash donations and 1,540 pounds of non-perishable items for the ECHO Food Shelf. This completed another successful year at the North Mankato Fun Days Parade on Saturday, July 10th.
Organizers were excited that the rain held off and there was an amazing spectator and volunteer turnout. Many members of the ECHO Food Shelf board, Snell Motors, KEYC News Now, Target, and Radio Mankato collected donations during the parade. Thanks to every single person who came out to push a cart and/or helped out with this year’s fundraising in any manner!
The Pile It On tradition started in 1993 and over the years has collected over 82,000 pounds of non-perishable items and over $56,000 in cash donations. Local organizers include: KEYC News Now, Snell Motors, Target, and Radio Mankato stations, including KTOE, KXLP, KATO, KDOG, KXAC and The FAN. Additional support is provided by Mayflower and United Prairie Bank.
