Governor Tim Walz  announced that Minnesota has reached the goal set by President Biden and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to vaccinate 70-percent of the state’s 18-and-older population by July 4th.  At a ceremonial signing of the state budget bills earlier today, Walz said…

“And I think today, I mentioned this a way long time ago, I said there won’t be a day like the end of a war where all the church bells ring and we walk outside and COVID’s over, but I’ve got to tell you, today’s about as close to that as we could get.”

The budget includes funding for frontline, essential workers during the COVID crisis. And the budget includes $1.2 billion for E-12 education–the largest funding increase in 15 years, $70 million in COVID relief for small businesses, and $80 million in economic recovery grants.
