Minnesotans for a Smoke-Free Generation are applauding lawmakers for including an additional four million dollars in the Health and Human Services policy and finance bill. Spokeswoman Laura Smith:

“There are two big areas we hope the state will use this funding to focus on. First is reversing the youth tobacco epidemic and second is really tackling those disparities that have resulted from decades of tobacco industry targeting of black, indigenous, LGBTQ, and other community groups.”

Smith says this funding will allow Minnesota to more aggressively prevent tobacco addiction before it starts.
