(Minneapolis, MN) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison says the 20-plus year prison sentence for former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin was fair. Speaking on ABC This Week, Ellison said the death of George Floyd was particularly cruel, especially as it happened in front of kids. He said he is not totally satisfied with the results of the trial because nothing will bring Floyd back. The Minnesota Democrat said the work is not done, and he wants to see Congress pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. Chauvin still faces a federal case accusing him of violating Floyd’s civil rights, which experts say he may strike a plea bargain in.
