(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Legislature has approved funding a bill which provides swimming lessons to low-income children and addresses lifeguard shortages. The Legacy Finance bill, passed by the Senate Monday, includes 220-thousand dollars for those purposes. The legislation follows a rash of drownings in the state this year involving several children. The bill now heads to Governor Tim Walz.
