The Minnesota Multi Housing Association has filed a lawsuit against Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison over the COVID-19 eviction moratorium. The 19-hundred-member landlord group says Walz’ executive order “unconstitutionally interferes with the contract rights of tenants and property owners.” They hope the courts bar the governor’s office and the AG from enforcing the order, saying around 69-thousand households owe 215-million dollars total in back rent. The governor’s office says he has already begun to address the moratorium by working on the recently approved “off-ramp” plan with lawmakers.
