As the summer approaches, Minnesota is experiencing a spike in drownings. Officials say the Gopher State averages around 60 drownings a year however, Minnesota has had around 12 over the last two weeks. Experts are advising residents to keep a close eye on one another, swim in places with a life guard, have a phone nearby, and remember a life jacket.
