As we head further into the summer travel season, gas prices are expected to climb to around three dollars a gallon by July 4th.  St. Cloud State University Economist King Banaian says the swell in prices early this month was due to the Colonial Pipeline hack:

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there was one more disruption somewhere down the road but … the bigger issue is people have the desire to travel. They feel it’s safer right now and so the demand for gas and oil is going to be higher throughout the summer.”

The average price for a gallon of unleaded in Minnesota today is around 2.60 a gallon for unleaded.
