Air travel is beginning a significant bounce back to that could carry the industry to a strong summer.

“There is pent up demand across the board and airlines are trying to meet that demand with more flights, more options, more routes.”

Minneapolis St. Paul International Spokesman Jeff Lea says they are now back to operating at about 70 percent of the flights and routes they did back in 2019.

“This summer we are looking at 404 average daily departures from MSP, that compares to 139 just a year ago.”

Lea says domestic travel has been the first to bounce back, but they are seeing positives on the international side too.
