Don’t be the person that loved ones are remembering this Memorial Day — the word from public safety officials as Minnesota begins the hundred-busiest days on its roads.  Traffic Safety Office Director Mike Hanson says:

“We really need to get this speed thing back under control.   Otherwise, you know what?  Instead of going to the lake or going to the cabin on summer weekends this year, we’re gonna be going to an awful lot of funerals that don’t have to take place.”

Extra enforcement patrols are out through June 6th, focusing on seatbelt use but also keeping an eye out for speeders, distracted drivers and impaired motorists.
