Former State Senator Jeff Hayden represented the district where George Floyd died and Hayden’s reflections are featured along with many other prominent Americans in a USA Today piece on Floyd’s death. Hayden says…

“The death of George Floyd much like a lot of grief that we’ve experienced in our lifetime never goes away, just the unwarranted, malicious way that Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd, I think those images will never leave us.”

Hayden says he supports the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and he’s urging Congress to pass the legislation. Hayden says the country needs “transformational and structural change because minor changes won’t fix major problems.”
