Minnesota’s COVID vaccination rate has slowed down and among the strategies that officials are trying:  encouraging employers to work with employees who need time off to get their vaccination, or have side-effects the next day.  Governor Tim Walz says when it comes to incentives to get vaccinated…

“Some of  ’em, maybe they work, they’re a little gimmicky — a million-dollar lottery or whatever we’ve seen….  But what really gets people is knowing  that they could take the afternoon off, or if they’re not feeling good the next day, they’ll still get paid and their employer will let them off.”

Officials note there are federal programs that provide tax breaks to employers who give their employees flexibility to be vaccinated.
