(St. Paul, MN) — Health officials say drug overdoses are skyrocketing since the pandemic. On Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health shared that more than one-thousand people died of a drug overdose in Minnesota last year. According to reports, there was a sharp increase in drug overdose deaths starting last March which coincided with the start of the pandemic. Health officials say the numbers are preliminary and may change when the data is finalized.
