(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Legislature has passed a nearly eight-million-dollar funding bill to cover the security costs related to Derek Chauvin’s trial. That bill will reimburse the state Department of Public Safety for costs associated with bringing various law enforcement officers into the Twin Cities area during the trial. Lawmakers passed the bill following a request from Governor Tim Walz. Walz said yesterday that he will sign the piece of legislation.
