A Minnesota State Senator is proposing a new law that targets protestors. Senator David Osmek’s legislation would make a person convicted of crimes related to a protest ineligible for state government assistance. This includes food stamps, student loans, unemployment benefits and healthcare. The proposal comes after protests in the last year around the deaths of George Floyd and Daunte Wright.
