Medical experts say the coronavirus variant first identified in the U.K. appears to be infecting school-age children and younger adults. Former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said Monday the B.1.1.7. variant is showing up in “pockets of infection” around the country. More than 740 schools in Minnesota have had cases of the variant, more young people in Michigan are being hospitalized as cases rise, and officials in Orange County, Florida reported more cases in people aged 18 to 25 last month.
