As Minneapolis prepares to step up law enforcement downtown around the Derek Chauvin trial, city leaders are also adding increased safety measures near the spot where George Floyd died. Crime has been up in the area since Floyd’s death last May and Mayor Jacob Frey says…

“We began providing that high-visibility patrolling in the area neighborhoods of 38th and Chicago and that includes a command vehicle which is located over at Phelps Park.”

Mayor Frey says “no neighborhood deserves to feel violence and chaos” and he says every community should feel safe.
