The trial of Derek Chauvin resumes today with several key items of interest.

The seven jurors seated in the Derek Chauvin trial prior to the publicity around the city of Minneapolis’ $27 million settlement with the family of George Floyd will be re-questioned today. At issue is whether the settlement may have changed any jurors’ opinions about being impartial. The judge says the jurors will participate via Zoom and their identities will be protected…

The defense on Monday asked for a trial delay and for a change of venue because of pre-trial publicity. Judge Cahill is taking it under advisement. Cahill also says he intends to rule Thursday on whether information from George Floyd’s 2019 arrest will be admissible in court. So far nine jurors total have been seated.
