The need for blood donations continues amid the COVID-19 pandemic. American Red Cross Spokeswoman Sue Thesenga says their blood drives have continued with some added precautions like requiring you to make an appointment ahead of time.

“That way we can stagger arrival times for people, to make sure people are socially distancing throughout the blood drive experience. We also require masks. We take everyone’s temperature when they arrive at the blood drive. We want to make sure people are fever-free when they come out to donate.”

Thesenga says they’ve also set-up disinfecting stations at the blood donation sites.   Next Tuesday, March 16th the Red Cross is hosting a “Powering the Mission” virtual event where attendees can learn more about what they do and for people to make a donation.   March is Red Cross Month.
