The Walz administration will allow more middle and high school students to return the classroom before the end of the month.

“So students we’re ready to go. We’re going to get back in school folks. We’re going to do it safely.”

Beginning February 22nd, all middle and high school students can return to the classroom for hybrid or in-person learning. Walz called this the pay off from his administration for sacrifices imposed on Minnesota students.

“Gonna get a chance to do prom, gonna get a chance to do those state tournaments, gonna get a chance to graduate, and more importantly going to get a chance to sit in those classrooms with friends they will remember for the rest of their life. This is a gift.”

All schools are expected to offer some form of in person learning by March 8th. The move comes just days after the C-D-C released new guidance on opening schools and against a backdrop of favorable signals on a return to in person learning from the Biden Administration.
