As temps finally inch up above zero, Split Rock Lighthouse is gearing up for spring with new programs, including a “Keeper’s Tour” which is a guided tour of the lighthouse and keeper’s house. It will be offered at limited times on Saturdays and Sundays in March and April, with expanded tour hours starting May 1st. Split Rock Manager Hayes Scriven says during the peak months, the tour will also be offered before the park opens…

“This exclusive little special thing that you’ll be on-site when nobody else is and you’ll get a little bit more in-depth tour, you’ll get a little extended time in the lighthouse tower and some of the other historic buildings.”

For now, the tour is 45 minutes long and will be limited to 10 people to ensure social distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols can be maintained. For more information, you can visit the Minnesota Historical Society’s website.
