It’s expected the Republican-controlled state Senate will vote today (Mon) on a bill that would basically force Minneapolis to pay outside law enforcement agencies for help they sent during last summer’s riots, or the city would lose part of its state aid. …”why is a community being allowed to de-fund their police and then being able to ask the rest of the state to cover costs.”
Democratic Representative Carlos Mariani points out events in the Twin Cities draw from all over Minnesota:
“The goal should be making sure that, if you’re visiting us in Minneapolis, you’re safe — and it’s the state’s duty.”
