Minnesota Republican Party Chair Jennifer Carnahan says Twitter’s decision to permanently ban a sitting president from expressing his opinion on social media is “irresponsible and will have many unforeseen consequences.” Minnesota House Democratic Majority Leader Ryan Winkler responds:

“The fact that Republicans express concern about Twitter when an unstable maniac has access to the nuclear launch codes shows that they are a bankrupt political party.”

Carnahan says most Americans agree tech companies have too much control over information. She says Twitter could have continued deleting specific tweets that went against their rules, but banning the president is not the right answer.

“Republicans will do anything to deflect attention from the fact that the president that they have supported, through mob violence has done everything under his power to maintain control.”
