State Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says the new year brings with it hopeful signs amid the COVID pandemic.
“I can report today that enough vaccine has been allocated to and received by the state and delivered to providers to complete the first shots for all priority one, phase 1a healthcare workers.”
Malcolm says that includes mostly hospital-based staff. Officials say it will likely take most of this month to get through the administration of Phase 1A vaccinations before Phase 1B starts. Phase 1B will include teachers and other workers expected to face elevated COVID-19 risks.
