The Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) and Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will be hosting a live online meeting and virtual open house for the Hwy 169 Corridor Study. The online meeting will be Thursday, January 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The virtual open house can be accessed any time from January 14 – 28. To register for the online meeting and visit the virtual open house website, check out the project website:

Public feedback collected during the online meeting and virtual open house will help confirm the issues and opportunities for improvements on Hwy 169 and guide the development of draft design alternatives for a future corridor layout.

During the online meeting, attendees will hear an overview of the corridor study process, review key data about the current corridor, ask questions and provide feedback to project staff. The virtual open house will provide a similar opportunity for participants review the study details at any time and provide feedback through a survey and interactive map. Residents without internet access can drop off written comments in the drop box outside the Intergovernmental Center or mail them to MAPO located in the same building: Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato, MN 56001.

MAPO and MnDOT are conducting a transportation study on Hwy 169 through North Mankato, Mankato, and South Bend Township. See project area map. The study will analyze safety, intersections, traffic flow, pedestrian and bicyclist connections, and alternative roadway designs to develop a long-term transportation vision for the corridor.

MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all.
