Governor Walz is continuing to put a pause on indoor dining at bars and restaurants through January 11th. The Governor made the announcement Wednesday afternoon. Walz says outdoor service areas will be allowed beginning Saturday.
“I know we’re in Minnesota and I know it’s December,” said Walz. “But breweries have told me if we allow this there will be people around fire pits drinking brews. If we can make that happen, we should.”
Walz admits it’s not fair
“The virus has hit disproportionately into communities of color and indoor venues,” said Walz.
The Governor announced a plan to have all elementary students return to in-person classes beginning January 18th, provided the local districts can meet all guidelines. He also said gyms will reopen Saturday with 25 percent capacity and youth and high school sports can begin practice on January fourth.
