Property taxes will go down in the city of North Mankato next year. City manager John Harrenstein.
“We were planning around a one and a half percent decrease,” said Harrenstein. “It’s going to end up a little less than one percent.”
Harrenstein says despite the pandemic, there’s been growth in North Mankato.
“We did grow around four percent in new home construction,” said Harrenstein. “We also had a sizeable jump in existing home value.”
He says the city is not counting on any local government aid from the state this year due to the state having a forecast budget deficit for next year.
